Tara Clerkin Trio
The playfulness of Stereolab injected deep into the dubby jazzy coolness of Portishead, Everything But The Girl jamming with Massive Attack, the Tara Clerkin Trio are just plain brilliant. Recently honored with Best New Track for “Somewhere Good” by Pitchfork, and already a favorite of forward thinking music festivals like Big Ears, Le Guess Who, Making Time and others, they are poised for a big breakthrough.
The Bristol trio of Tara Clerkin, flanked by brothers Sunny-Joe Paradiso and Pat Benjamin, were already close to perfect on their earlier releases, like a Broadcast by the sea, but on their first full length Somewhere Good (out May 30th) they take a great leap forward. Beautifully clean and clear melodies float like singsong birds over shifting and intricate compositions that find the details in the missing spaces. This is music that reminds you why you love music.
